The 526th and 527th began exchanging their warweary A-36s for war-weary P-47s, the very first of which they received from the 27th FBG on 23 June. The 525th, having turned over their A-36s at Pomjgliano to the other two squadrons and then mounting P-40s, began turning in the PAOs for the remaining A-36s from the other two squadrons who, in turn, began receiving P-47s.
